Duke Dumont - I Got U - video analysis by shemsi

The music video is shot at a mans point of view, and that in the beginning, he raises his hands to put on his helmet, which transforms his life into a world which he thinks is "better than life" and that's when the music starts.
The lyrics of the video are talking about a special girl, that the artist loves and that he has nothing if she is not there, we know this because in the lyrics is says "ask me what i did with my life i spent it with you" this makes us feel happy for the artist, because he must have had a lot of fun. However the music video does not link to the lyrics because the music video does not show the girl that the lyrics are describing. This must mean that all that is missing is his girlfriend, and that world that he is in, is not perfect.

In this scene the lyrics are " ask me what i did with my life i spent it with you", as he says "i spent it with you" he looks around, this connotes that he is looking for his love, and that only that is missing.
overall the music video makes us feel happy and that we need something like this to make us happy.
In the video he is mostly topless and has shorts on because of the variety of activities he does, there are also many mid-shots of girls dancing or playing volleyball, this attracts the male gender.
In the beginning of the video Duke Dumont (playing the main character) looks outside the window and sees that its is raining, so that links to the middle and the end which there is good weather everywhere he goes.
Duke Dumont also does a variety of fun activities which makes us feel in a good mood.
In the video there is only one scene that there is band performance and that is during the middle of the video from 1:28 - 1:40.
