Chance the Rapper - Juice video analysis

The video for Juice is mainly a performance based video, with the occasional dances and random drunken antics. The filming style is less professional and has more of the "I've taken a camcorder out with my friend" kind of feel but the hand held shots are smooth and not too jagged as Chance mucks about between performing the lyrics, pretending hes had a lot of his "juice" and is dancing about and just generally being fun and silly. There are 3 simple camera shots used throughout, mainly middle range and close range shots with the occasional long shots thrown in, and the camera does no more than pan a little and track Chance during his movement. The lighting is very low and it's filmed at night in the city, but has all the city street signs and lights of Time's square I believe it is in the background. There are blurs of things in the shot in the background to create a similar effect to that of a nightclub, where it is dark but there are constantly changing lights everywhere around you, this will appeal to the target audience as this is what they tend to do and love. Young men and women who go out at night in the city get drunk and party. His clothing is very basic with nothing out of the ordinary, just modern clothing that most people who live this party lifestyle would wear, or any other young person of that age on a normal day. This allows the audience to relate more to the singer and feel closer to him as they see that they're not so different, they dress the same and go out and get drunk the same.
